September in Israel is a great month – the last summer days bring festivals, concerts, and much, much more. See some of the things to do in Israel in September 2021 below.
Due to the global pandemic of Covid-19 and the uncertainty that is has ushered in, many events are cancelled or postponed. We will not be removing seasonal events from this page to offer you an overview of the events typically offered this time of year, but please check directly with the coordinators if you’re planning on attending any events.
September 2021 Events In Israel
September 1-4 – The 22nd annual Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival will be held in Jerusalem.
September 6-8 – The Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah will be celebrated in Israel. This is a special time of year to celebrate this festive holiday.
September 15-16 – Yom Kippur, the Jewish Holiday of Atonement, will be celebrated across Israel.
September 19-28 – Haifa International Film Festival. This was the first film festival in Israel and has become an annual event with more than 280 film screenings.
September 21 – DGTL Festival in Ganei Yehoshua
September 20-27 – The week-long Jewish festival of Sukkot will be celebrated in Israel.
September 21-24 – Akko Festival, a fringe theatre festival, will be held in Akko during Sukkot.
September 24-29 – Midburn Festival – Israel’s Burning Man Festival in the Negev Desert.
September 21-28 (Estimated date) – The Tamar Festival will take place at Masada and the Dead Sea.
September 21-28 (Estimated date) – International Storytelling Festival in Givatayim. Over 100 performances covering a range of topics and featuring storytellers from Israel and around the world.
