More Information about Masada and the Dead Sea Tour:
Masada's history is a story which you will become well accustomed with on our Masada Tour, one about being the last Jewish stronghold against the Romans. The only information documented about Masada comes from the historian Josephus Flavius. Masada was built by Herod the Great between 37 and 31 BCE. The rest of the triumphs and defeats involving Masada will be detailed by your tour guide. In order to get to the top of Masada, visitors will take a cable car. From there, your tour will take you to explore the ruins of the palace with your knowledgable guide. The Dead Sea borders Israel, Jordan and the West Bank. It is a salt lake that sits 400 meters below sea level. It was one of the world's first health resorts and people still boast about its healing properties. Today, the salt minerals from the Dead Sea are used in creams, lotions and makeup. As part of the Masada and Dead Sea Tour, you will have the opportunity to float the afternoon away in the salty waters.
