New Cypriot airline, Cobalt Air is set to launch a new route from Tel Aviv to Larnaca with strong potential for onward connections to other destinations in Europe and, later, in the Far East, in line with the airline’s plans to have strong schedules to destinations in China. Cobalt Air will begin flights from Larnaca to Tel Aviv on September 2, 2016, and will have six weekly flights thereafter with one flight per day apart from on Saturdays. Cobalt’s entry to the Tel Aviv market follows the recent commencement of flights by another upstart Cypriot airline, TUS Airlines just a few months ago. Both airlines were formed to fill the vacuum left by the bankruptcy of Cyprus’s former national airline last year.
