Good news for Israeli surfers! Arkia Airlines has revealed plans to launch a direct weekly flight from Israel to Sri Lanka, a beloved island destination in the East. This marks a significant milestone, as it will be the first time an Israeli carrier will offer a nonstop route to Sri Lanka. The weekly flight – with a duration of approximately six hours and fifteen minutes – is set to debut on October 31, 2023 and will operate under Arkia’s Airbus A321neo aircraft.
Sri Lanka, particularly favored among surfers, has been a popular destination for Israelis for the past few decades. Arkia has emphasized its commitment to accommodate surfers by allowing the transport of their personal surfboards. The countries are hopeful of this new route and will consider adding more flights in the future.
