El Al Airlines has exciting news for travelers seeking to fly between Australia and Israel. Come April 2024, the Israeli airline will launch direct flights between Tel Aviv and Melbourne. The Victorian government has signed a letter confirming this new route: three times a week, ensuring a seamless journey for future passengers aboard Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
While the new route was initially planned for 2019, the launch was postponed due to the Covid pandemic. However, in recent airspace developments with Saudi and Oman, Israeli airlines will now be able to operate with significantly shortened flight durations – 15 hours eastbound and 17 hours westbound. Considered a crowning achievement and economic initiative, these new flights to Melbourne will be non-stop.
