The area was once a crossroad linking the ancient trade routes of Asia, Africa and the Mediterranean. The ancient Nabatean tribe prospered from this route and built their city which became a centre of wealth and power. The site is a stunning vision of craftsmanship, with great structures and impressive monuments calved into the rock. The most iconic of these is The Treasury, a palatial tomb that is ornately calved and stunningly beautiful. It is no wonder that Petra it listed as a UNESCO world heritage site and named one of the 7 New Wonders of the World.
"I was a little bit doubtful for such an intense trip just in one day. Instead it has been fantastic! Starting from the drivers which had made the long travel to and from Eilat very quick and pleasant, then the organization at the border crossing was perfect and, last but absolutely not least, the guide in Jordan, Nizar, with a competence that I have never seen before." -Luigi, Italy
"The tour was excellent – thank you very much! It was fun, educational, comfortable and flawlessly organized. Well done! -Alex, USA
