Israel’s capital can be a great place to keep fit!
Jogging
Jerusalem is a hilly city and so a jog should really be planned before it is run. Having said this, this topography means that a properly planned run can be magical. A book, the Carta’s Jogger’s Guide to Jerusalem offers great ideas. Alternatively, you can combine your jogging with a city tour, with ‘Run the City’.
Tennis
Tennis courts can be found around Jerusalem including at the YMCA in King David Street (closed Sundays) and the Hebrew University campus at Mount Scopus. All courts should be booked in advance and cost around $8 an hour.
Swimming
Many of Jerusalem’s hotels have the best pools in town including the Dan Pearl Hotel and the Inbal Hotel who have covered pools open year-round. The David Citadel Hotel has a heated outdoor pool open year-round. The Mount Zion Hotel and King David Hotel have outdoor pools.
Health clubs & Gyms
Many of Jerusalem’s hotels have gyms. The best of these, however, are the CYBEX fitness center at the David Citadel Hotel and the Jerusalem Regency’s gym.
Biking
