Surrounded by the Negev Desert, Eilat is Israel’s southernmost city. A popular resort city on the Red Sea’s Gulf of Aqaba, it offers visitors 360 days of sunshine each year. Winter temperatures stay above 20°C, while its warm waters are known for their corals. As well as being a destination all of its own, Eilat is situated next to the border with Jordan. This makes it a jumping off point for trips to Petra, and even Saudi Arabia. See our ideas for the 10 best things to do in Eilat.

North Shore

Eilat’s North Shore area is the main hub of the city’s hotels, resorts, and night spots. They tend to cluster around the hotel zone and marina, although some nudge the Jordanian border. By day, the North Shore air is filled with the sound of games of beach volleyball and jet skis. By night, it’s the buzz of restaurants, bars, and finally nightclubs.
