As well as time to explore the ‘lost city’ of Petra in depth, this tour includes some of Jordan’s other highlights, the ancient city of Jerash, Mount Nebo, from where Moses first saw the Promised Land after 40 years, and Madaba, famed for its impressive Byzantine mosaics. Departing from Jerusalem and Tel Aviv once a week, this tour is fully guided, unique and offers a great value way to maximize your time.

Petra & Jordan Tour Highlights
Depart from Jerusalem or Tel Aviv and cross to Jordan from the Sheikh Hussein Border Crossing.
Experience a short tour of Jerash, an ancient city with very famous Roman architecture.
Drive through Amman, Jordan’s bustling capital city.
Visit Madaba, famous for its impressive Byzantine mosaics and church.
Tour Mount Nebo, and see the same impressive view across the Promised Land as Moses had after 40 years of wandering.
Overnight at Petra hotel, upgrades possible.

Day 1 – 08:00 – Cross into Jordan via Sheikh Hussein Crossing
Day 1 – 10:00 – Short tour of Jerash (Extended entry can be purchased on site)
Day 1 – 12:30 – Authentic Jordanian lunch
Day 1 – 15:30 – Visit to Madaba
Day 1 – 16:30 – Visit Mount Nebo
Day 1 – 17:00 – Drive to Petra
Day 1 – 20:00 – Arrive in Petra at hotel (Dinner included)
Day 2 – 07:30 – Breakfast
Day 2 – 08:00 – Head towards Petra
Day 2 – 9:30 – Guided tour of Petra including an optional horse ride
Day 2 – 12:00 – Free time in Petra to explore
Day 2 – 16:30 – Meet at Petra Exit
Day 2 – 19:30 – Border Crossing into Israel and transport from border. Return to Jerusalem/Tel Aviv – travel time back is approximately 4 hours, all times are approximate.
Note: If border crossing into Jordan takes longer than expected, activities may be removed from Day 1)
Price includes: pickup in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem, transportation to all sites, entrance fees, water bottle, accommodation in Petra hotel, meals as outlined above.
Price excludes: border fees (US$65 paid in cash at the border), Jordanian visa fee of $60 for those who have not pre-arranged a visa, drinks, tips.
Single supplement of $25 applies to single travelers.
Tour starts and ends in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv. Option to end in Aqaba or Eilat is available.
Israeli passport holders should contact us prior booking this tour (while other tours can be booked by Israeli passport holders without prior notice).
Maximum of 25 passengers per group (in Petra). Please note that while in transportation, groups may be larger. We find that larger buses are more comfortable and accommodating. However, the time spent guided in Petra will be a maximum of 25 passengers per group.
Our tour departs as early as possible to ensure timely arrival to the border crossing. By arriving first this means a quick crossing procedure and more time spent in Petra.
Tour includes snack box and water bottle in Petra (vegetarian options available). Enjoying a snack box enables travelers to spend more time in Petra and grants more flexibility and time. For those interested in eating at a local restaurant in Petra, this can be done during the free time of the tour, both inside or outside Petra.
Tour language is English every day.

Please note, border fees and visa fees are NOT included in the tour price and are paid directly at the border, in cash. Border fee is for departure tax from Israel, departure tax for operated groups from Jordan, arrangement and preparation of Jordan visa, assistance service from border representative on departure from Israel, assistance service from border representative on arrival in Jordan, and assistance service from border representative on departure from Jordan.
Please note that during Ramadan (from May 5th to June 4th) the tour will cross to Israel by 18:00, due to earlier closure of the border.
