The 30th Opera Festival will take place in Akko, Israel, in September 2015. This is the second year the festival is being held within the Courtyard Citadel and Knights’ Halls in the historic city of Akko (Acre). A UNESCO World Heritage site, Akko’s Courtyard Citadel and Knights’ Hall create natural scenery and a dramatic backdrop for the weekend’s performances. The festival in Northern Israel will take place from September 10-12, 2015. There will be three separate festival events:
The Marriage of Figaro: An Opera by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
There will be two performances of this opera on September 10 and September 12 at 20:30 in the courtyard of the fortress. Subtitles are in Hebrew and English. Tickets are NIS 350.
The Three Tenors
This performance is a celebration of the most popular tenor arias and takes place on September 11 at 21:00 in the courtyard of the fortress. The three international tenors are Gaston Ribero, Uruguay; Domenico Menini, Italy; and Salvatore Cordella, Italy. They will be accompanied by the Raanana Symphony Orchestra. Tickets are NIS 250.
Cinderella
A well-known story about a young girl, two step-sisters and a glass slipper. For this classic performance designed for the entire family, there will be three performances on September 12 at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00 in the Knights’ Halls. Tickets are NIS 80.
