On the second candle of Hannukah, the magical Nahal Hadera Natural Reserve will be transformed into an extravaganza of world music. Brought to you by the producers of the Sunbeat Festival, Midnight Sun is the first event of its kind: One long night of music, food and art showcasing the best of the Global Beats Movement that Israel has to offer.
Four bands, three DJs, food stands representing cuisines from around the world, visuals by Mr. Jimmy and much more!
Among the stars headlining the event is ESTER RADA, the widely acclaimed ‘Queen of Ethio-Soul’. Rada incorporates elements of soul, Ethiopian jazz, funk and groove into her uncompromising performances, singing in Amharic, English and Hebrew. Her band of seven musicians, also widely applauded by critics, includes mind-blowing rhythms and brass sections. Her rare voice, natural and carefree rhythm and groove along with the sparks of diva which emanate spontaneously from her unassuming form have won her tens of thousands of fans overnight along with the praise of the music critics in Israel and abroad.
One of the late-night performances will be by the happy-go-lucky SUMSUM band, an Israeli band playing original Gypsy music inspired from all over the world. This gypsy celebration will transport your imagination to the happy villages and colorful back gardens of Eastern Europe and the Balkans, an otherworldly, ecstatic audio-visual experience!
