American jazz pianist, Brad Mehdau will be in Israel, July 18, 2011 for a one-off concert at the Shuni Amphitheater in Park Jabotinsky near the Israeli town of Binyamina, about 45 minutes north of Tel Aviv. The park, which is in a beautiful setting, overlooking the Alona Valley, the heart of the Israeli wine-region, is the perfect setting for a night of calm, cool jazz piano.
Brad Mehldau is known for having broken boundaries in the jazz world by beautifully synthesizing jazz, classical music, and rock ‘n’ roll. He has performed with mega-stars including Pat Metheny, Wayne Shorter, Larry Grenadier, Peter Bernstein, Jeff Ballard, Joshua Redman, Christian McBride, Michael Brecker, Chris Potter, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Brian Blade, Jimmy Cobb, Renée Fleming, Anne Sofie von Otte, and singer-songwriters including Chris Thile and John Mayer.
