The HaTachana Merkazit Festival (the Central Bus Station Festival or CBS Festival) in Tel Aviv will be something totally unique! In September 2012, for the first time, the HaTachana Merkazit Festival, will transform the Tel Aviv Central Bus Station platforms into a festival stage for a 12 hour music festival – with a varied and massive indie music line-up. The HaTachana Merkazit Festival will take place on September 17, 2012, Rosh Hashana, when bus services are suspended. Tickets are on sale now (see below for more information)
HaTachana Merkazit Festival: Uniquely Israeli
At the heart of Israel’s large indie music scene is South Tel Aviv – a mixed and fascinating part of a city which is not big, but is incredibly varied, dynamic, and creative. The iconic building of South Tel Aviv, and for many, all they see of the area, is The Tel Aviv Central Bus Station, the second largest bus terminal in the world, and usually a place that people only pass through. The HaTachana Merkazit Festival is a uniquely Israeli creation, and for the first time will bring music, as well as art and other performances to what is usually only a building and neighborhood people pass through. It’s going to be great!
