At the launch event for Tel Aviv’s city-wide WIFI, Ben Gurion Boulevard was decorated with colored balloons
Tel Aviv has become one of the first cities in the world to offer free WIFI at 80 locations across the city, including most major public locations in the city center. The city has worked on the project over the past year, and visitors can easily connect to the free network and surf at good speeds. Whilst it does not replace home internet for now, it is, of course, great for visitors to the city who might not be able to get mobile internet on their phone from home (alternatively check out this article about Israeli SIM cards and phone rental).
