Dolls Art Exhibition, Tel Aviv. March-July, 2014

The “Dolls Art” exhibition features the works of Israeli and international doll artists and puppet masters, and is on display at the Old Jaffa Museum of Antiquities, in the heart of Old Jaffa overlooking the Tel Aviv skyline.  The building – the ‘Ancient Saraya’ – originally serving as the governmental Ottoman house now hosts changing contemporary art exhibitions. On display is an array of colorful and imaginative hand-made dolls and puppets inspired by fairy tales, operas, literature, mythology, different historical periods, cultures and peoples.  Each doll or puppet is meticulously crafted using diverse techniques and materials from classic porcelain china and embroidery to wood-carvings and recycled plastics and metallic objects.  Combining a childlike subject with sophisticated subtleties this exhibition is suitable for all ages and genders.

The exhibition is open from March to July 19, 2014, on Monday-Thursdays and Saturdays from 10:00-18:00, Fridays from 10:00-14:00, and is closed on Sundays.
