B7 Art Experience, Beer Sheva
The Beer Sheva Art Experience provides educational tours and workshops for all kinds of groups wanting to experience the capital of the Negev Desert. From short, hour improvisational workshops, to two day environmental tours they insure the best quality programing with lectures, art activities, games, acting and site seeing. Most workshops will be conducted outside the old mosque in the centre of the Old Town, Beer Sheva. This is an amazing Ottoman built Mosque with a interesting past and a complicated future.
In the past Beer Sheva has been wrongly underestimated as a place to pass through. The Beer Sheva Art Experience promises to show Beer Sheva in its true light as a historical city with essential relevance both in biblical times and in today’s development of the Negev.
Through unique workshops aimed at connecting tourists with the city, participants can learn though active participation. One program offered “Israeli art – Influenced or Influential?” aimed specifically at youth groups, opens up the discussion about the Diaspora’s influence on Israeli culture. The participants act out scenarios from famous Israeli paintings and discuss the influences surrounding them. The main objectives for this workshop is to allow the youth group members identify and to feel the connection between the diaspora and Israeli culture. Another tour takes participants on a photography walk around the city, where they will learn to use their own cameras in creative and artistic ways. They will learn about framing and lighting whilst enjoying the historic and diverse architecture and people. Many other programs, tours and workshops are available and are also in the process of being developed.
The Beer Sheva Art Experience is a new concept and relies heavily on feedback and thoughts so if you have any great ideas, send them an email and they will try to incorporate these into their programs.
Workshops can be selected from the website or groups can custom build their own workshop, depending more on their groups needs.
