Things to do & Events in Israel in March 2013
March in Israel is the start of spring and as the days get longer, the air warmer, and the sea calmer, everyone is coming out into nature to enjoy the country. Spring sees the start of many festivals across the country, and holiday time falls in late March 2013 with Pesach and Easter offering many special events. March 2013 also includes the Jerusalem ice festival, some amazing cultural events with great concerts from dj’s to jazz, and top sporting events including two major marathons. March is a great time to be in Israel, and here are some of the highlights.
March 2013 events in Israel
Throughout March - Jerusalem Ice Festival. Taking place at the city’s Old Railway Compound. Amazing ice sculptures, and a skating rink, will be among the attractions at this second annual event.
February 27-March 2 -EPOS, The International Art Film Festival, dedicated to encounters between the arts and cinema, take place in Tel Aviv.
March 1 - Jerusalem Marathon. Undoubtedly the world’s holiest marathon crosses the city of Jerusalem.
March 1 - Calexico in Tel Aviv. The indie group who have received acclaim around the globe come to Tel Aviv for two concerts.
March 8 – DJ Shadow in Tel Aviv. The American DJ and producer will perform in Tel Aviv for the second time.
March 11-19 – Jerusalem Arts Festival. A week of over 100 diverse arts performances from music to dance, visual art to performance art.
March 13 – Idan Raichel in Jerusalem. One of Israel’s most iconic sounds, Idan Raichel will perform in Jerusalem.
March 14 – Steve Aoki and Infected Mushroom in Tel Aviv. One of Israel’s greatest homegrown talents will perform alongside Steve Aoki in a mega party in Tel Aviv.
March 15 - Tel Aviv Marathon. A unique run through the varied scenes of this special city.
March 15-16 – Form and Fabric Fashion Event. A two day fashion exhibition in Tel Aviv bringing together designers, stylists, and artists.
March 16 – WildFlower Music Festival – a spectacular of art and music taking place throughout the day and night, on this Saturday.
March 19-21 – Sounds of the Old City. For three days, the Old City of Jerusalem will be brought to life by music playing in the streets and squares of these ancient walls.
March 22 - Yatir Forest Group Hike. A special group hike designed for English speakers who want to explore the land will take place, leaving from Jerusalem
March 22-April 6 – Dali Exhibition, Haifa. A major exhibition of the works of Spanish artist Salvador Dali will come to the city of Haifa.

March 27-30 – Holon Design Week. Many events in the city of Holon during Passover centered around the city’s famous design museum.
