The best big museums in Tel Aviv
The Tel Aviv Museum of Art is Israel's largest art museum, with a large collection of permanent exhibits as well as temporary exhibits. The Helena Rubenstein Pavilion showcases contemporary art in another building, although entry here is included in a ticket to the main museum. The museum also shows foreign films in its cinema.
Eretz Israel Museum is a diverse museum in the Ramat Aviv quarter of Tel Aviv showcasing a diverse selection of exhibits across a stunning campus overlooking the city of Tel Aviv. The museum also has a fantastic cafe.

The best alternative museums and galleries in Tel Aviv
The Bauhaus Museum is a new boutique gallery/museum showcasing the history and development Bauhaus design in the heart of Tel Aviv's UNESCO recognised White City.
The Azrieli Observatory, on the top floor of the Azrieli Circular Tower, Tel Aviv's tallest building, is the highest observatory in the Middle East. From here fantastic views across Tel Aviv and the coastline almost 50km to the north and south can be seen. There is also lounge bar at the observatory (for which you dont have to pay the entry fee.)
A number of small, contemporary art galleries such as the Raw Art Gallery, Dvir Gallery, noga Gallery, and, reckoned to be the best in Israel by the New York Times, Sommer Contemporary Art. The Ilana Goor Museum in Jaffa, is the house of an artist which is open as a gallery - pretty cool!
