One of the most prominent and bustling symbols of New York made aliyah three days ago and landed in Tel Aviv. The Tel Aviv Port was designed to look like New York’s Times Square and hosted events and activities, including a large screen through which the public could see what is going on in real time in the authentic square in the Big Apple.

Using Bezeq’s new NGN technology, port visitors can view all the goings on in the New York street and vice versa in a life-size live broadcast. Friends and family can meet up via this transatlantic telecast between Tel Aviv and New York.

Among the people we met at the events were a New York resident who came to talk with his friends back home and an Israeli who was pumped up to see the passersby in New York carrying lulavs and etrogs.

The event kicked off on Tuesday and will continue until Thursday. The events scheduled include yoga classes taught by teachers hailing from New York, cooking classes, salsa, creative activities, and game corners for children. The celebrations will conclude with a concert given by Tararam. Various street performers, including acrobats, musicians, rappers, break dancers, tap dancers, and human statues, will also contribute to the merriment.
