International Art Festival Coming to Tel Aviv

Any film festival that brings together homages to Francis Bacon and Merce Cunningham, hosts a descendant of Felix Mendelssohn and presents a master class by self-confessed art geek Ben Lewis deserves to be called eclectic – or EPOS, the first International Art Film Festival, which will take place October 29-31 at the Tel Aviv Cinemateque.

Madonna arrives in Israel at start of a week of big-name concerts

Madonna, the Queen of Pop arrived at Ben Gurion Airport this morning, along with her kids, two days ahead of the first of two concerts she will be giving in Israel to end her Sticky & Sweet tour. The entourage travelled straight to Tel Aviv, where they will be staying at the David Intercontinental Hotel for the duration of her visit which includes the two concerts on Tuesday and Thursday.

Jerusalem Woodstock Revival

The original Woodstock festival happened a long time ago, and whilst the festival no longer lives on, the music does. In Israel the mix of music from the summer of ‘69 remains ever-popular, combined with modern-day hits. And its for that reason that tomorrow, on Wednesday 5 August, Jerusalem will play host to a 5-hour music marathon on Tu B’Av, the traditional Jewish day of love. The event also commemorates 40 years since the historic 3-day Woodstock Festival in New York, in the summer of ‘69.
