Jacob’s Ladder Festival. May 3-5, 2012
The Jacob’s Ladder Festival is a twice a year folk music festival in Israel, held in Nof Ginosar on the shores of the Sea of Galilee in the north of Israel. The festival takes place in May (Spring) and December (Winter) and is a unique musical and social event for lovers of all aspects of folk music from Bluegrass to World music, Irish jigs to Country Rock, and Blues to Renaissance. The May festival is the larger of the two, with events taking place outdoors, while the December festival is more intimate, with an indoor series of events. The 2012 spring Jacob’s Ladder Festival will take place on the weekend of May 3-5

The May 2012 Jacob’s Ladder Festival will feature some especially well regarded musicians including country-bluegrass musician Mike Scott & the Nashville Band from Gallatin, Tennessee, 22 year old Israeli folk-indie-singer Maya Isacowitz, The Bodhran Band who fuse Irish-Scottish and Mediterranean sounds, and Shmemel who fuse Funk-Groove-Hasido-Rock. There are many other performers, and events taking place as part of the festival.
