Tel Aviv Tour Highlights
- Start the day at Beit HaTfutsot, the Museum of the Diaspora. This amazing museum, located within the grounds of Tel Aviv University chronicles Jewish life outside of Israel over the past 2,600 years in all four corners of the world utilizing fascinating artifacts, displays, and multimedia.
- Head back into the center of Tel Aviv and visit Rabin Square an iconic center in the city named for the former Prime Minister who was assassinated here.
- Head south, beyond the modern city, the the ancient port Jaffa out of what we know as Tel Aviv emerged. Tour the Old Port, with its narrow alleyways, lined with boutiques and galleries.
- Moving back north out of Jaffa, the first neighborhood we will come to is Neve Tzedek, literally translated as Oasis of Justice, the first Jewish neighborhood constructed outside of ancient Jaffa when overcrowding became a problem in the late 19th century. Walk through its pretty cobbled streets lined with world-class cafes and restaurants, galleries and fashion shops
- Explore the Nachalat Binyamin Arts and Crafts Fair, a twice weekly occasion where Nachalat Binyamin street is taken over by 200 artisans from across the country who showcase their often inventive creations.
- Tour Tel Aviv’s White City where the day began
- End the day Sheinkin Street an icon of the bohemian and hip city Tel Aviv has become. The ‘Soho of Tel Aviv’, this street’s renovation in the 1980′s sparked a trend across the whole city, and the street today remains busy with cafes, amazing designer stores, and interesting people.
