Formula 1 in Jerusalem might not be such a wild dream after all. Mayor Nir Barkat of Jerusalem is working on a plan to bring Formula 1 to the city. A proposed track would pass through the heart of the modern city of Jerusalem – passing along some of the city’s most iconic streets including King David Street with the start and finish line near the walls of the Old City. The track would pass alongside the Jaffa Gate, the Sultans Pool, the historic Mishkenot Sha’ananim and Yemin Moshe neighborhoods, and the Liberty Bell Park.

The idea of Formula 1 in Jerusalem is exhilarating – the international attention that the city would receive, the high profile drivers, and of course, the tourism! Whether the plans are realistic or not are yet to be seen, however the vision is great and we hope to soon welcome Jerusalem to the motor racing world!
