Jerusalem has literally hundreds of small museums, here are some other interesting, off the beaten track ideas.

The Tower of David Museum is located in the restored ancient Citadel of the Old City (near the Jaffa Gate) and tells the fascinating (and long!) history of Jerusalem in varied and interesting ways.

The Israel Museum is a national collection of art and ancient artifacts. Whilst the museum is currently being refurbished, one of the key exhibits, the Dead Sea Scrolls, housed in the magnificent Shrine of the Book, amongst the museums’s grounds, as well as many other fascinating exhibitions are still open.

Yad Vashem is the world’s largest Holocaust memorial. Visited by foreign leaders when they visit Israel, the Yad Vashem complex is located amongst stunning forest in hills overlooking Jerusalem. The main museum tells the chilling story of the Holocaust as much through its eery architecture as its fascinating displays.
