The Akko Festival is an annual festival that takes place every year in the northern Israeli town of Akko in the Western Galilee. The Fringe Theater Festival takes place among the Crusader ruins and beachfront promenades of the Old City of Akko for four days during the Jewish festival of Sukkot. The Akko Festival features tens of special performances of original, avant-garde fringe theater from Israel and around the world by some 500 artists with over 60 shows including special premieres, guest performances, street theater and outdoor events. In 2013, the festival will take place between September 21-24, 2013.

The street theater and free shows are a popular part of the Israeli Fringe Theater Festival of the fringe festival, with 68 different performances of which many are premieres, including puppet theater, dance performances, circus acts, video art, mime artists and more.
